Off the back of his debut Arc EP, Kamera's second voyage on Erol Alkan's Phantasy Sound label continues to expand his "visionary take on modern electronica." It comes in the form of Ventoux – a four-track EP reflecting back on the producer's own experiences of cycling Mont Ventoux, the gruelling 'Beast of Provence' mountain range in France, and providing the name of his most concise and intriguing opus yet. Title track "Ventoux" resonates long after the closing chords have faded. It stands out in poignancy compared to the rhythmic emphasis of the three cuts surrounding it. Chiming synths sustain the melody that loops dreamily throughout, allowing yourself to momentarily drift off into the open soundscape Kamera has painted. Ventoux blends the physical and cerebral with ease, in a sound that is both "refreshingly futurist, yet completely timeless." Ventoux drops on 29th January 2016. http://soundcloud.com/platform/kamera-ventoux-boiler-room
